Trans PRK , Streamlight Treatment , No Touch LASIK

StreamLight is the latest introduction for specs removal by laser procedures. Streamlight is specially designed for patients with thin corneas, delivering extraordinary results with a completely pain-less, touch-less, cut-less, blade-less, flap-less laser procedure and this is called advanced surface ablations(ASA), in which no corneal flap is raised.

“Stream light”, a new excimer laser-based transepithelial PRK approach that removes the epithelium without contacting the eye.

The excimer laser removes the epithelium and reshapes the corneal surface to fix the visual deficiency in one optimized Wave Light operation. PTK treatment area size and location automatically match the PRK ablation profile. The eye is not touched.

In StreamLight, the corneal flap is not raised Instead, the outer most covering of the cornea, called  epithelium, is completely removed with the help of laser to expose the underlying stromal tissue. The epithelium is like the skin of the cornea that protects its deeper layers and is also responsible for maintaining vision. The laser then reshapes the cornea as in LASIK.  The epithelial heals gets self-healed in around four days, and the patient is provided with a soft contact lens to protect the cornea until the healing is completed.

After this procedure patient feels mild discomfort for 3 to 4 days as compare to LASIK surgery. The bandage contact lens is removed after 3-4 days and thus the rest period is more is compare to LASIK. This procedure is extremely safe and reliable for low to moderate refractive errors. In high refractive errors there are chances of mild to moderate corneal haze.

Streamlight At a Glance:

Streamlight PRK offers precise vision correction for nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.

PRK is a non-invasive laser eye surgery suitable for individuals with thinner corneas.

Streamlight PRK uses advanced laser technology and surgical techniques for enhanced safety.

Each Streamlight PRK procedure is customised to the patient’s unique needs, considering their eye measurements and prescription for best results.

Streamlight PRK has a longer healing period, with gradual vision improvement.over several weeks after surgery

PRK has a long history of safety and effectiveness in improving vision. Streamlight PRK offers reliable vision correction solutions.

Option for eye surgery that aims to minimise discomfort and reduce contact with the eye during the procedure.
